1) Direct Attached Storage or DAS is a term for non-networked storage. In direct attached storage, hardware is connected to an individual host server. Storage for each server is managed separately and cannot be shared. DAS would involve adding extra storage devices to a specified host machine.

2) Internal Storage is storage that is located within a server. It indicates that data is stored on internal disk drives. This would mean adding additional hard drives or utilizing existing drives to store data.

3) Network Attached Storage or NAS is a data storage device that can be shared by many computers attached via a network. NAS allows computers to add and remove storage as needed, providing flexibility and scalability to heterogeneous (multiple computer type) environments.

4) Storage Area Network or SAN environments consists of storage devices such as disk arrays and tape libraries shared over a network to multiple hosts. A SAN is often used in enterprise (large network) environments. Like a NAS device, SAN devices enable a user to add to or remove storage components from a computer. In the past, SANs typically used SCSI over Fibre Channel, as defined by the "FCP" mapping standard, but today, iSCSI, or SCSI over IP, is becoming more and more popular since it generally costs less and can run over standard ethernet.
