Because Data Is Critical To Business
Backup Tips
As the "backup" guru and the person responsible for being able to get major systems back online after disasters large and small, I've come up with some suggestions for how to protect your data from the "small" disasters, whether personal or business-related that anyone would be wise to consider.
I'll share some of them with you here. Enjoy, and implement today!

How To Protect Your Data
Save your data to a network share (A drive shared over your network)
Setup the "auto-save" feature in the applications you use (i.e. Word and Excel both offer this)
Get in the habit of saving your work every now and then -especially after you've added important data
Create a scheduled task that will save critical data on a daily basis to a backup location
If you carry a laptop with you, be sure to sync important data with another source asap
Set your screen saver to password protect your computer when you are gone for an extended period of time
Email a copy of critical documents to yourself or another trusted source
Test any backup documents you've saved -you might even check to make sure you can open them before you close the file you are working on
